Examples of Previous Experience

Electroflocculation System Assessment – covering sampling, analyses and report.

The scope of the work was to assess the ability of the Electroflocculation system to treat a synthetic waste solution. The monitoring program included the running of the pilot study, sampling, analyses and report including findings and recommendations.

Recycled Water UV validation – included large number of MS2 analysis

The UV disinfection system of a recycled Class A treatment facility required validation in accordance with DoH guidelines. This process involved the sampling, monitoring and analyses of a range of parameters and a detailed report.

Boat STP Trial Validation Procedure

Several large boats operating off Australia’s northern coast required a validation trial to be carried out the boats Sewerage Treatment Plant. The STP has been in operation for many years but never undergone verification.

Design changes were made and implemented and it was considered that it would therefore be appropriate to conduct the trials to ensure the design changes were appropriate.

The trial involves taking a minimum of forty effluent samples over a ten day period, after steady state conditions have been reached and under normal operating conditions. At the time of effluent sampling, a sample of the flush water was also taken. An adequate number of influent samples were also required. Consequently one sample of raw sewage was collected each day of the trial. A final report was presented outlining the findings of the trial and any relevant recommendations.

Chlorine demand and chlorine decay trials

An investigation was carried out to ensure the design requirements for the tertiary upgrade of a STP was appropriate. Previous tests undertaken required to be validated.

Several aspects of this work was validated by the process of a series of bench top trials. Trials were carried out and findings were reported.

Illawarra lake turbidity and colour issue

Insitu jar testing was carried out on a large ornamental lake for the client. Treatment options and costs were provided on several of the proposed alternative solutions.

SOTR trials – measuring insitu DO at multiple points

A client required the SOTR values to be calculated for several facilities including an oxidation ditch and an aerobic digester cell.  Verification of each basin was carried out for a maximum  SOTR and minimum SOTR.

DO / Turbidity Probe program.

A thermistor chain was installed at a Reservoir in western Victoria on a pontoon which was located near the outlet tower. Dissolved oxygen and turbidity probes were also installed and the data was regularly acquired and uploaded to the web.

The objectives of this project were to log temperature variation with depth and download dissolved oxygen and turbidity values and collate and review the algal and phys-chem data collected. Quarterly and annual reports including seasonal plots were provided to the client throughout the duration of the project.
