Examples of Previous Experience
Western Coast Water Quality Risk Assessment for private water supplies
A water quality risk assessment was carried out on eight commercial properties in several Otway locations. A site audit was carried out on each property and an individual water quality risk assessment including recommendations on improvements and costs were provided.
Industry – provision of a risk assessment for recycled water
The industry requires the use of recycled water for its operation. The water from one of the dams is used for this purpose. The runoff undergoes on-site primary wastewater treatment and the effluent is discharged back into the reuse dam. A risk assessment on recycled water was carried on the dam water.
Fountains – Risk Assessment
Eighteen fountains in the Melbourne area were risk assessed in regard to water quality. Water quality monitoring was carried out followed with a risk assessment and recommendations on treatment options.
Wetland Report – efficiency of wetlands and treatment trains
Our client required a review of the Water Quality Monitoring Program to be carried out. A review and assessment of the monitoring data from the receiving waterways, wetlands and treatment trains for the first two years of operation was provided. The current water quality targets during operations were examined and recommendations for ongoing targets were provided.
Industry – environmental water quality monitoring program.
The propose works program traverse a number of waterways and floodplain areas. Twelve sites are associated with this project. Monitoring was undertaken upstream and downstream of the works, however some sites were lagoons or wetland sites and this was not possible.
Our client engaged us to perform water quality and biological monitoring at these sites. Water quality and macroinvertebrate sampling and processing were completed according to the Rapid Bioassessment Methodology for Rivers and Streams guidelines (EPA, 2003d) from twelve sites (single habitat).
A report detailing the impacts of the work progra on water quality parameters and biological communities was provided for each sampling event.
